Beads from 3.8.2020

Hollow Mandrel-Wound Lampwork Beads

First batch of beads made in NYC. Hooray. That's reason enough to celebrate. Colors include: Effetre Transparent Orange, Pale Violet, Tongue Pink, Medium Rose, Silver Pink, and Opal Yellow. Some use of Helena(?) Double Helix Frit and 066 Dense Black trailing.

Transparent Amber

Transparent Amber with Opal Yellow shards, helena Double Helix Frit and 066 trailing. Standard fodder for bead curtain. For some of the beads, the frit is partially melted in, hence the gritty surface texture.

Pink Light

Nothing extraordinary. Just a pretty soft pink opaque.

Pale Violet? Lavender?

Not exactly sure which color this is. Pale Violet? Lavender? Pastel Something? Like most opaque colors, this was cooperative. These have a slight metallic iridescence. I’m not sure if this effect is inherent in the color, or if it’s from a reducing flame.

These have 066 trailing as well. I’m detecting pattern.

Medium Rose Alabaster

I hate Alabasters, although I was pleasantly surprised to see that I hadn’t completely boiled out the color from these.

Also contains: Helena Double Helix Frit and 066 Trailing.

Transparent Orange

Self-Explanatory. I think this is a striking color, so the bead has to be cooled before being reintroduced to the flame, hence the color variation. These were made as practice beads as I adjusted to a new studio and torch setup.
